Service Engineer
Kwetta is building world-first EV charging tech, and needs a hands-on Service Engineer ready to solve problems, own outcomes, and help scale Kwetta.
- Shape the future of EV charging with cutting-edge tech
- Get ownership, growth and a real pathway forward
- ESOP, health cover, and a team that actually backs you
At Sprout, we’re proud to be working alongside Kwetta - a clean energy company building next-gen EV charging technology and taking it to the world from right here in Aotearoa.
Kwetta’s mission is bold: to unlock the true potential of power grids and accelerate the shift to electrification. As they grow, they’re looking for a Service Engineer who’s hands-on, curious, and keen to learn - someone who’s excited to play a part in a truly global climate solution.
This isn’t your average service engineer role. You’ll be working on cutting-edge hardware, supporting field deployments across New Zealand and Australia, and eventually helping to scale service partnerships as Kwetta expands into Europe. You’ll also bring Level 2 tech support capabilities, confident working across systems, interpreting data, and engaging directly with customers. It’s varied, fast-paced, and meaningful work and you’ll be backed by a team of clever, supportive, values-driven people.
What you’ll be doing:
This is a role that will evolve- and that's part of what makes it exciting.
- In your first 12 months, you’ll be heavily involved in hands-on field work, commissioning, servicing and supporting our high-powered EV charging systems across New Zealand.
- As we onboard third-party service providers, your role will shift toward remote diagnostics, Level 2 tech support, training and guiding those partners.
- You’ll work across both hardware and software layers, interpreting data, solving real-world issues, and helping shape how we support our systems as we scale globally.
- You’ll also play a key part in developing internal documentation and service processes, bringing your ideas to the table as we grow.
- Participate in a rotating on-call roster and occasional travel, with flexibility and support baked in.
What we’re looking for:
- Registered Electrician (EWRB).
- Strong Level 2 technical support skills (Excel, system diagnostics, ticketing platforms).
- Excellent communicator across phone/email with solid attention to detail.
- Experience with power electronics, automation, or industrial systems
- Tech-savvy and eager to develop both hands-on and systems capabilities.
- Bonus points: CAD, PLCs, switchboards or international servicing experience.
- A chance to shape the future You’ll be working on something that matters, from the ground up.
- You won’t just do tasks – you’ll influence systems Your feedback directly informs engineering and customer experience.
- Room to grow - Kwetta values learning and development, and there’s clear room to stretch.
- Global ambition, grounded in NZ lifestyle - Work that has international reach, without giving up local balance.
- Low-ego, mission-led culture Everyone’s in it for the right reasons.
- Competitive salary + tools + Southern Cross health cover.
- Employee Share Option Plan (ESOP) a chance to own a piece of what you’re building.
- Autonomy and trust to do your best work.
- A genuinely supportive culture.
- The opportunity to shape and lead how tech-enabled service evolves as Kwetta grows internationally.
