The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager to accelerate growth. This is a critical role focused on securing new high-value projects while nurturing existing client relationships. You'll be instrumental in increasing revenue, expanding the client base, and building a strong market presence within a challenging and competitive industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales & Opportunity Generation
- Drive growth by consistently prospecting and qualifying leads to maintain a robust sales pipeline.
- Dedicate time each day to “hunting” for new business and identifying opportunities within our core industries.
- Leverage your strong technical understanding to present solutions in a consultative, client-focused manner.
- Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build and maintain relationships with key industry decision-makers, spanning from engineering teams to executive levels.
- Deliver compelling, live presentations at industry events, engineering institutes, and networking functions.
- Ensure transparent and honest communication throughout long sales cycles, effectively managing both large-scale and shorter-term projects.
- Market Insight & Strategic Growth
- Monitor and analyse market trends to identify opportunities and learn from competitive wins.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure proposals are technically sound and commercially viable.
- Apply robust discovery techniques and follow-through to build lasting industry contacts and drive repeat business.
- Holds 3–5+ years’ experience in business development or sales within the engineering, automation, or technical solutions sector.
- Ideally have experience in water or waste-water solutions and worked in selling solutions into civil environments
- Possesses an engineering background or knowledge and is adept at navigating long, complex sales cycles.
- Demonstrates commercial savvy, charisma, and energetic networking abilities.
- Has a proven track record of building a meaningful client network and delivering impactful presentations.
- Is proactive, organised, and committed to transparent communication and follow-through.
