We're looking for an AI Technical Product Manager to run delivery across AI-driven software projects. Ideal for a former developer.

  • Bringing structure and delivery discipline to a fast-moving tech environment
AI Technical Product Manager
Auckland | High-growth tech startup

This role is for someone who cut their teeth in a fast-moving tech company, started as a developer, and now owns delivery, priorities, and outcomes.

We’re working with a growing technology startup building and shipping applied AI products that are already in market. They’re looking for an AI Technical Product Manager to run delivery across client-facing AI projects and selected internal platform work.

If you’ve worked in an environment where things move quickly, ownership is expected, and “figure it out” is part of the job, this should feel familiar.

What you’ll actually do
  • Own delivery once projects are signed, from handover through to launch and iteration
  • Partner closely with engineers to keep work moving, manage trade-offs, and ship outcomes
  • Translate defined scopes into clear plans, priorities, and next steps
  • Bring structure and delivery discipline to a growing team without slowing things down
  • Occasionally join client conversations to clarify scope or technical detail
What we’re looking for
  • Former developer with 2–5 years hands-on experience earlier in your career
  • Strong technical literacy. You're comfortable discussing system design, APIs, integrations, and engineering trade-offs
  • Experience in a technical product, project, or delivery role within a startup or scale-up
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities
  • Pragmatic and outcome-focused
Nice to have
  • Experience in high-growth SaaS or product-led tech environments
  • Exposure to AI, automation, or data-heavy systems
  • Background in consultancy or agency delivery
  • Experience working with international customers (especially US-based teams)
Why this role
  • Real ownership and trust
  • Work on AI products that actually ship and evolve
  • Competitive mid–senior salary
  • A culture that values pace, accountability, and getting things done
  • Not a VC lead company, so there is stability
If you’re a Technical Product Manager or Project Manager who still thinks like an engineer, or someone who’s made the transition from dev into delivery ownership, this role will feel like a natural fit.
