About the Role

We’re looking for a commercially savvy and technically capable Business Development Manager / Sales Engineer to take the lead in winning major projects and expanding our client base. This is a hands-on, growth-focused role that will see you identify and secure new business while strengthening existing relationships across the civil, infrastructure, and water sectors.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Sales & Business Development:
    • Actively identify, qualify, and convert new opportunities.
    • Dedicate time each day to hunting for new business and growing your pipeline.
    • Present solutions in a consultative, client-focused manner.
  • Client Engagement & Relationship Management:
    • Build long-term relationships with engineers, project managers, consultants, and executive decision-makers.
    • Represent the business at industry events, conferences, and technical presentations.
    • Manage a mix of short and long sales cycles with clear, honest communication throughout.
  • Market Insight & Strategy:
    • Monitor industry activity, trends, and competitor wins to inform your approach.
    • Work closely with in-house technical teams to develop proposals that are both commercially and technically robust.
    • Use sound discovery techniques to build trust and become a go-to partner in the industry.
What You’ll Bring
  • 3–5+ years’ experience in business development, sales engineering, or technical solution selling.
  • Experience working with or selling into the civil, water, or wastewater sectors is highly desirable.
  • Experienced providing solutions into councils and infrastructure is essential.
  • A technical background, ideally in engineering and the confidence to lead long, complex sales processes.
  • Charisma, drive, and an ability to build a strong professional network.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
