About the Role

As an intermediate Civil Engineer, you'll work alongside the teams to oversee their projects. These range from the small drill shots, through to supporting on the biggest of projects, such as large-scale drill shots kilometers in length. You'll be involved in all stages of project delivery, from initial investigation to execution, with a focus on innovative, trenchless solutions that offer a greener alternative for infrastructure installation.

You'll take charge of client relationships, drive projects forward, manage tendering processes and quality assurance while collaborating with project leaders to plan, problem-solve and deliver. Your role is to be the key liaison between the CDS team, consulting engineers and the clients.

This includes:
  • Site supervision and problem solving – for projects large and small
  • Site QA and construction monitoring
  • Preparing documentation, such as safety plans, methodologies, and environmental management plans
  • Project planning and forward workload management
  • Relationship management and working with clients
  • Proposals, tendering, pricing and quotation management
  • Contract and budget management

About you

As a qualified engineer with a background in civil engineering (ideally the three waters, but open to other civil disciplines such as roading), you'll bring a unique blend of technical expertise and practical know-how.

Your practical nature, strong communication skills and the ability to think on your feet and find solutions is key. The work is practical - however, it can be technical and this role will certainly keep your mind challenged. You will need to be a team player, be happy to get involved (chip in on site when appropriate) and work well with people from a variety of backgrounds.

To be considered for this role, you need to have some experience in engineering, project management, or a related background. You will be led by a Chartered Engineer who would support your learning, and work alongside a team of other engineers and project managers.

Why this role

This is a great role for someone who likes to be involved in all the parts of the project, who enjoys applying their technical knowledge to practical, real-world projects and who likes a bit of banter too! It would also suit someone who is passionate about the environment and champions the benefits of trenchless drilling.

This full-time (Monday to Friday, with the rare Saturday) the office is based in Silverdale with a company vehicle and tools of the trade supplied. The projects are located Auckland-wide, so you may be required to work at various sites across the region.

If you have the right experience and attributes, and this sounds like a company and role that you would love to be a part of apply today! Or contact Clara Jensen on clara@sproutpeople.co with any questions.
