SMX are looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to come on board to own the evolution of our Kubernetes; driving the future direction, ensuring security, and mentoring other engineers with your knowledge.   


The Role

This role will put you at the forefront in contributing to building and enhancing SMX’s cloud platform. Designing, building, managing, and optimizing scalable infrastructure, including Kubernetes clusters for application deployment.

A focus on automation, operational excellence, and upskilling of others is key in ensuring SMX has the best possible platform available for both internal and external customers. 

This role demands a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with others to drive outcomes that align with SMX's purpose to make a positive impact on the digital world by securing it for the benefit of everyone.

This will see you
  • Infrastructure and Cloud Management: Design, implement, and manage scalable infrastructure on Azure using Terraform. Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure performance, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Kubernetes and Containerization: Develop, secure, maintain, and optimize Kubernetes clusters for application deployment. Enable deployment of containerized applications and monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve Kubernetes issues.
  • Automation and Optimization: Drive automation initiatives across the entire stack, including infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and containerized applications. Collaborate with Application Product teams to improve deployment workflows and operational efficiency.
  • Security, Guidance, and Innovation: Implement security best practices and compliance requirements. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to others, promoting a culture of engineering excellence. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements.

Your background in Kubernetes and cloud-related technologies uniquely positions you to leverage technical expertise and leadership skills, enabling the design, build, and management of scalable infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters.
